Veasey Inducted into NACD Corporate Governance Hall of Fame
New York, Dec. 3, 2015—Former Delaware Chief Justice E. Norman Veasey was inducted into the Directorship Corporate Governance Hall of Fame of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). The induction took place at a formal ceremony on December 2, 2015, in New York. According to Ken Daly, CEO of NACD, “The Hall of Fame is comprised of individuals whose career achievements have left an indelible impression on the boardroom community.”
In his remarks at the Hall of Fame event, Veasey cited the outstanding achievements of the Delaware Judiciary and the NACD in fostering best corporate governance practices throughout the nation. In particular, he emphasized the growing law and regulatory compliance responsibilities of directors. Among a number of distinguished national corporate leaders to be inducted into the NACD Hall of Fame over the past several years, two other former members of the Delaware Judiciary have been inducted: Chief Justice Myron T. Steele, and Chancellor William B. Chandler, III.
Veasey is currently Special Counsel to the Wilmington firm, Gordon, Fournaris & Mammarella, where he concentrates his practice on serving as an arbitrator, mediator, special master, and providing moot court preparation services for lawyers. He is currently an Adviser to the American Law Institute’s project on Principles of the Law, Compliance, Enforcement and Risk Management for Corporations, Nonprofits, and Other Organizations, an Honorary Founding Co-Chair of the American College of Governance Counsel, and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
